On May 2, 2003 I lost my great companion and protector "Ashta" Louise Black Princess AKC German Shepherd. She loved going through Taco Bell to get her plain beef soft taco. Playing the 125 lb lap dog. and sleeping on the foot of my bed. I love you Ashta I'll see you at Rainbow Bridge. Look for me!!!
On March 13, 2004 family and close friends came to say their last farewell to Hondo's Ebony Chief known as Hondo. He was Bob (my dad's) big black appaloosa with blanket and spots and rat tail. He gave so much with his big heart, from giving Chelsea a three year old shy little girl who is twelve now her first horseback ride, to giving Joe the wild ride of his life, to giving my dad the wind underneath his hooves, and my mom the simple love and beauty of being a horse. Hondo was humanely put down with everyone present. Our thanks and respect to Dr. Caldwell  and Roy D. for making his last hours good ones. Hondo you are greatly missed. Be happy at Rainbow Bridge. Dad will meet you and Pat(his sadddlebred) there one day.
On Feb. 5,2005 at 10:30am only 6 days shy of her 25th birthday,  I said my last farewell to my best friend T.J.'s Cricket my foundation bred Appaloosa mare. She taught me to barrel race, trust my ride and how good a friend can be. For 15 years she listened to my dreams and my problems. She was the first horse my daughter ever rode. All the afternoon rides she gave me will always remain with me. You were a true friend. I will miss wondering what new spots you would have ever spring. Stay with Hondo and Ashta they will keep you company till I get to the Bridge. Thanks 'Cricket' my beautiful old woman run with the wind under your hooves, you deserve it.
